"SO PEACEFUL" |
Forgiveness is something we cannot do by ourselves, it is something most of us fail to do, we all struggle to forgive and i know it is not that easy to forgive. There was a certain friend of mine, lets call her Nyasha. She lost the love of her life at the age of 23, he was someone she had loved for over 5 years and she was ready to commit to him. it only got worse when she learnt that her mother had been wicked enough to have caused her future husband's death (through withcraft). you can imagine how she must have felt and to have her mother confess that it was true right in her face, i will not go into further details of the story, but Nyasha was crushed, her whole world fell apart. She was burning with fury and she hated her mother with a passion, we can imagine how it feels to have someone you have loved for your whole life, let alone someone who raised you and brought you into this world destroy the only thing that brought joy into your world, be so evil and uncompassionate. Nyasha failed to forgive her mother,,her life turned upside down,,she became so emotional and she carried an extra baggage each day she hated her mother, and the load got heavier and heavier as she failed to forgive her, her mother had repented of her evil ways and was rebounding, she also confessed and was humble enough to ask for forgiveness.... this carried on for quite sometime and Nyasha never felt at peace, she forgot how it was like to be happy, she had no joy inside of her and only because she failed to forgive and chose to carry the excess baggage. it only took an anointed man of God to help Nyasha get back on track and go though her situation, and thats when she learnt how important it is to forgive. she forgave her mother and as i speak, Nyasha has love for her mother that i myself have failed to understand..she explained to me how the Lord restored her joy when she forgave her mother. she felt at peace once again, she regained her joy and happiness as she was not carrying any more unnecessary baggage around. very often we fail to forgive those who offend us, we choose to hold on to the offences....and a result we are separated from the joy and happiness that we experience when we forgive. i know you may probably think ah better said than done, but think of it this way, Christ came to die for us sinners so that we can be forgiven and become acceptable to our Father, imagine all the pain he went through just so we can be forgiven and yet we who were forgiven fail to forgive those who offend or sin against us. dont you think it is not fair to not forgive, after all we were forgiven and imagine how you would feel if someone failed to forgive you and also imagine how you will feel at peace and get rid of the guilt when someone says they forgive you and they truly mean it..imagine the happiness, the peace, the joy that comes with forgiving and imagine the baggage you carry when you fail to forgive,,is it not better to forgive others and live at peace knowing that one day you might need others to forgive you as well and you will be forgiven just the same way you forgive others. it is hard to forgive but when we ask the Holy Spirit to help us forgive, and if we ask the Lord for grace that is sufficient enough to help us forgive we will be able to forgive and live at peace with everyone and imagine how this world would be if we all lived at peace with one another...God is ♥
